Q: On average, how much more annually does an individual with a bachelor’s degree earn than someone with only a high school diploma?

A: Pennsylvanians with a bachelor’s degree earned nearly $20,000 more annually than those with only a high school diploma in 2011. Median earnings for Pennsylvanians with a bachelor’s degree was $47,252 compared to $27,896 for those with a high school diploma alone. Pennsylvanians that have achieved higher levels of educational attainment reap the benefit of higher wages and rates of homeownership, while experiencing lower rates of unemployment and poverty.
