Representatives from Penn State’s Data Governance Working Group shared their progress toward establishing and implementing a framework for data governance at the University. The panelists included Jon Crutchfield, Senior Director of Business Intelligence; Lori Hancock, Interim Associate Vice Provost for Institutional Research; Karen Henninger, Senior Associate Registrar; Michelle Stine, Research Analyst; and Andrew Watters, Research and Analysis Associate. Framework testing, business glossaries and data dictionaries, and the selection of software were among the topics discussed. The group hopes to use the University’s Annual Data Summit in December as a platform to obtain additional input and feedback from university stakeholders.
