The American Statistical Association has released a statement that provides a helpful primer on P values – what they are and what they are not. In addition it suggests a number of guiding principles for the use of P values. These principles note that, contrary to common belief, “By itself, a P value does not provide a good measure of evidence regarding a model or hypothesis.” It’s a welcome reminder and refresher.
