On May 9, 2014 the Institutional Research Interest Group hosted the presentation, “Using Data Analytics to Improve Student Success.” Bart Pursel, Faculty Programs Coordinator, Teaching and Learning with Technology; Co-Director, Center for Online Innovation in Learning, and Nick Warcholak, Senior Planning and Research Associate, Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment revisited learning analytics, examining a specific research project funded through the Center for Online Innovation in Learning (COIL) to leverage student data to enhance success in Math 110. In addition to examining the approaches used and current state of the grant, we will also touch on the University’s potential partnership with a learning analytics vendor, Civitas Learning. Approximately 70 people attended the session.
