On February 14, the Institutional Research Interest Group and the Office of Educational Equity hosted a panel presentation entitled, “Using the New iTwo in Strategic Planning.” Nearly 100 attendees participated. Panelists were:

Marta Miguel, Business Intelligence Manager, Administrative Information Services

Victoria Sanchez, Assistant Vice Provost for Educational Equity; and

Mark Weaver, Assistant Director for Information Resources, University Budget Office

As Penn State proceeds through its current strategic planning cycle, data-informed planning will be critical to understanding our current environment and to chart progress towards the future. In order to provide University stakeholders with the best planning tools possible, several offices have collaborated to develop iTwo, which is an Oracle business intelligence interface configured around Penn State data. This session highlighted the data available through the iTwo dashboard, including an expanded range of diversity data. A brief history of previous methods of accessing and distributing University data contextualized the advantages of iTwo. Panelists also provided a general introduction to iTwo and its various components and walked through a few data scenarios for diversity strategic planning from the Official Enrollment iTwo dashboard. Lastly, the panelists provided an update of the upcoming dashboard for employee data.
